Derbyshire Makes recommends

The festival brings together over 60 artists and makers from varied disciplines to share their passion and skills with you and to encourage you to have a go at making yourself.

Meet the spectacle makers for 2025:

- Big Bubbleman will be creating HUGE bubbles, CLOUDS of smaller bubbles and asking you to make your own bubbles.

- As part of Railway200 we welcome ‘The Lost Luggage Porters’, in search of the railway station these silent movie characters can’t resist exploring their cargo…

- The ever-popular kinetic sculpture maker Johnny White returns with more interactive and breath-taking designs.

- Making their Assemble debut are ‘The Youth Landscapers’ connecting young people with nature and the environment.

And Aardman animations will be back hosting three exciting pre-bookable workshops to make your very own Feathers McGraw! Tickets for the Aardman workshops are available to purchase in addition to your entry ticket for £15.

Visitors are advised last entry to the event is 3.30pm.

Aardman animations workshops are in addition to your Assemble ticket: 10:30-11:30am (young people) 12:30-1:30pm (young people) and 2:30-3:30pm (adult session).

Entrance to Assemble is £5 / FREE for Derby Museums Friends and under 16's.
