Women Who Make invites you to an immersive woodland experience exploring forest bathing, calligraphy and wellbeing.
Join Steph Walsh and the South Derbyshire District Council Environmental Education Project for a restorative morning exploring nature, wellbeing and mindful creativity at Rosliston Forestry Centre, in the heart of The National Forest.
Beginning with a gentle introduction to the work of the Environmental Education Project and its partners, you'll then step into the woodland for a guided forest bathing experience. Rooted in the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, this immersive session invites you to slow down, engage your senses and reconnect with the natural world through a series of mindful invitations designed to support wellbeing and reduce stress.
Following the walk, you'll take part in a relaxing Japanese calligraphy workshop, using nature-inspired words to explore the flowing movement of ink on paper while discovering the origins of this beautiful art form and its connection to mindfulness.
Together, we'll explore:
* Forest bathing techniques to support wellbeing and deepen your connection with nature
* Mindful and sensory activities inspired by the woodland environment
* The origins of Shinrin Yoku and Japanese calligraphy
* Creativity, reflection and the natural beauty of The National Forest
This women-only experience is open to anyone aged 16 and over. No previous experience is needed – just come prepared to spend time outdoors and enjoy a gentle morning of walking, creativity and connection.
Free to attend, but booking is essential.
