Meet the team behind the Dare to Dream finale

Award-winning, RIBA Chartered practice Intervention Architecture will work with communities across Derbyshire to create the spectacular 2027 finale installation.
We're delighted to announce that Intervention Architecture have been appointed to create the finale installation for Dare to Dream, one of the flagship projects within Derbyshire Makes.
Intervention Architecture are an award-winning, RIBA Chartered architecture practice with a collaborative approach to design. Working across architecture, art and community-led projects, they believe collective involvement is an essential part of creating meaningful places. Through community-led regeneration, artist collaborations and public installations, they invite people to become engaged with space in innovative ways, placing participation and making at the heart of everything they do.
That ethos makes them the perfect partners for the next chapter of Dare to Dream.

Over the coming year, Intervention Architecture will work alongside communities across Derbyshire to develop a spectacular textile installation for Derbyshire Makes 2027, bringing together banners, flags and textile artworks already being created across the county with many more still to come.
Rather than arriving with a finished design, the installation will evolve through conversations, workshops and collective making. It will continue to grow as more people become involved, ensuring the final installation reflects the stories, creativity and aspirations of communities across Derbyshire.

But this isn't just an artwork.
Dare to Dream is a countywide invitation to imagine better futures together. Inspired by Derbyshire's rich textile heritage, the project encourages people of all ages to explore their hopes for the future through making, using reclaimed and repurposed materials to create banners, flags and textile artworks that tell stories of place, community and possibility.
Whether you're a maker, artist, school, business, community group or simply someone with a dream for Derbyshire, there's a place for you in this growing movement.
Over the coming months, there will be many ways to get involved. You can:
• Join a Dare to Dream Sewing Bee
• Create your own banner or flag
• Share the story behind an existing community banner
• Contribute to the growing Digital Loom
• Take part as a business, organisation or community group
Every contribution will become part of a major public installation at Masson Mills during Derbyshire Makes 2027, celebrating the creativity, aspirations and collective imagination of communities across Derbyshire.
The next opportunity to get involved is the Masson Sewing Bee on Saturday 10 October, celebrating World Circular Textiles Day.
