A collaborative textile project bringing together memories, places and stories from across South Derbyshire.
10am–5pm | Drop in throughout the day
With Creative Melbourne
The wider project involved more than 300 people in creating four quilts celebrating the area's heritage and everyday life. Through stitch, participants captured stories of market gardens, mining and pottery alongside childhood memories, familiar landmarks and personal connections to the places they call home.
At Women Who Make, three of the smaller quilts will be on display, bringing together many of these individual contributions.
Look closely and you'll discover something different within each piece. A memory, a place, a piece of local history or a story that matters to the person who made it.
Together, the quilts show how individual experiences can become part of a much bigger story, creating a textile portrait of South Derbyshire shaped by its communities.
