Slow down, look a little closer and discover what nature might inspire.

Join artist and creative practitioner Steph Walsh for an easy riverside amble from Masson Mills towards Cromford, exploring nature, place and the landscape along the way.

Setting off from the Masson Mills Visitor Centre, you'll follow the riverside with Steph, discovering interesting facts about the locality and taking time to notice some of the details that can easily be missed.

From seed to legacy, Nature’s Inspiration is an invitation to connect with the natural world, think about the cycles and stories held within the landscape and discover inspiration in what you encounter along the way.

This isn't about walking far or fast. It's a gentle, easy-paced amble with opportunities to pause, look, listen and connect.

About Steph Walsh

Steph Walsh is a Derbyshire-based artist and creative practitioner whose work is rooted in nature connection, creativity and the landscape. Through walking, making and shared experiences outdoors, Steph encourages people to slow down, notice what is around them and find inspiration in the natural world.

What to expect

There are two Nature’s Inspiration ambles during the festival, beginning at 2pm and 3.30pm.

Each lasts approximately 60 minutes, setting off from and returning to the Masson Mills Visitor Centre.

The route follows the riverside towards Cromford and is designed as an easy-paced amble rather than a long walk.
