What should we really look for when buying a pair of shoes – and how can we help the ones we already own last longer?
11am–11.45am | Bookable seating
Step inside the world of footwear with community artist Sasha Archer, who spent a decade working as a footwear designer for the UK high street as well as working as a bespoke shoemaker.
Drawing on that experience, Sasha will share an insider's perspective on how shoes are designed and made and some of the things we can look for when choosing our footwear.
Explore materials, construction and craftsmanship, discover what can tell us about the quality of a pair of shoes and pick up practical ideas for caring for your footwear and extending its life.
A chance to look differently at something most of us wear every day – and consider how choosing carefully, understanding what we buy and looking after what we already own can help us consume differently.
