The creation of 'SUNBURST' - Welcome to the Bretby Art Pottery Family

Why not roll up your sleeves at our SUNBURST workshops at Magic Attic, where you’ll learn about Bretby Art Pottery and have a rare chance to make your own ceramic logo. The workshop moulds you will be using are 3D-scanned and 3D printed mini-replicas of the 1890s original, which is the only one in the world!

SUNBURST introduces you (in a fun way!) to forgotten production techniques, how people used moulds in making, local design and decoration, who did what in the local Potteries workforce and historic craft techniques.

You can also browse Magic Attic’s amazing archive and explore their new exhibition - the story of Bretby Art Pottery told through its Family Tree. Meet key family members like Henry Tooth and John Wragg, and it will explore its historic connections with other businesses like Sharpe’s, Aults and Denby.
