Meet The Musical Monsters with Rachel Scanlon

Meet the Musical Monsters – a joyful collection of sound-making creations developed with local school children. Throughout the day, visitors are invited to explore rhythm, texture and noise using a range of unexpected materials and objects. Come and experiment, listen closely, make gentle sounds or big ones, and discover what an orchestra of possibilities can be.

The monsters live inside an imaginative installation space designed by children and created with support from artist Rachel Scanlon, who has been working in schools to shape the environment.

There will be live performances from children twice during the day, alongside relaxed craft tables where families and visitors of all ages can make, explore and join in at their own pace.

A welcoming space to listen, play, create and celebrate young people’s imagination, hosted by Black Shale LCEP and Platform Thirty1.
