A celebration of all things handmade and preloved
Learn to transform everyday objects and second hand items into things of wonder thanks to an all-star team of local makers, repairers and creative up-cyclers, hosted by mischief makers Maison Foo. Join Val & Friends in the Community Living Room for brews, banter and preloved fashion tips as they bring comedy and community connection to the Market Place alongside a good dose of cosy community stories in the listening lounge.
Step into a world of playful sound making at the Infinite Wellbeing Community Centre, where Makers in Residence Sian Watson Taylor and Rachel Scanlon invite you to meet a band of Musical Monsters. With live performances and relaxed craft tables, expect a joyful, welcoming space for all ages to listen, play, join in and make some noise. Watch the award-winning film The Nettle Dress, hear from local growers, farmers and makers, and get hands on making with local, natural fibres. Or, head out onto the streets for a town-wide pattern-spotting trail inspired by the decorative brickwork that wraps around Heanor’s historic buildings. Derbyshire Makes in Heanor turns the whole town into an open air gallery of craftsmanship and creativity.
