Events inspired by water and local folklore
Cromford was the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. Today, we’re celebrating this history at Cromford Mills with a series of events inspired by water and local folklore, from live performances led by local storytellers, to a range of fun making activities. Listen to fables involving water spirits and mythical creatures, wander the arts and craft stalls, and explore your own creativity – from creating musical instruments from vegetables, race your propellor boat and contribute to our huge magical...well, we think it's a fish?!
In addition to our festival activities, join us every day of the Easter holidays to take part in a variety of making and crafting workshops.
There will be storytelling and theatre with Babbling Vagabonds and Adverse Camber, displays and activities with the Level Centre, Fleet Arts and Derby Gypsy Liaison Group. Plus craft workshops with Netty Reddish and Wild Roots. Also enjoy the visiting The Makory and contribute to Dare to Dream, a mass participation project.
Don’t forget on Saturday 12th April there is also a craft fair at Masson Mills – just a short scenic walk from us.
Programmed by The Arkwright Society.
